Manicure Monday: L'Oreal Gold Dust Collection Sexy in Sequins on Target Clearance

Hey there! Welcome back from the weekend. I'm excited to share a little news with you. I was perusing around Target last night and stumbled on a fun clearance find: all of the Gold Dust Collection is marked down. That's right. Do that little dance you do in your head when you find a bargain.

I'd been toying with whether I should buy any of those for a while, and kept looking longingly at Sexy in Sequins, but I hadn't pulled the metaphorical trigger. I'd heard Nicole over at Young Wild and Polished rave about it a lot. I don't know why I kept hesitating. That clearance sale was a little nudge from above, "It's OK, get another nail polish. You know you want it."

I did. And I'm glad I succumbed.

This textured polish is sparkly and pretty.  Just look.

As you can see Sexy in Sequins is a textured polish. If you're not into this trend, move it along. Nothing to see here. If you still haven't jumped on the bandwagon but you're curious, run thy behind to Target and get this before it's gone. I think you'll like this one.

So here's the skinny. Sexy in Seqins is a deep Amethyst purple polish with with purple and gold glitter. It dries down to what I like to call a fashionable gum drop -- if a gumdrop were to dress up for a night out on the town.

If you're not used to textured polish, it feels a bit different going on. There's definitely some grit (to be expected). But L'Oreal did well with its formula because it applies easily. You'll need to use thicker coats so you don't end up with "bald" patches, but that's essentially the case for this type of finish.

The only negative thing I have to say is that it feels like it takes forever to dry. That's less of a ding against the polish and more of an eye opener for how co-dependent I am with my fast-drying top coats.

Well, there you have it folks, a non-green themed manicure post for you on St. Patrick's day.

Are there any Gold Dust Collection polishes you still want to get your hands on that you'll be visiting Target's clearance section for?

  2. I actually bought two of the tangerine lip balms. I do love it. I'm not completely disgusted with the scent like other people may think, but I still think it's great for my chapped lips. My favorite eos smooth flavor is the Medicated Tangerine. I also love their lotion, it's great. I'm a big fan of EOS.

  3. I still haven't tried their lotion, but I like the Medicated Tangerine balm the best too.

  4. I work at Walgreens and we had a promotion for this stuff, so I bought some to help out my company. I've been using it for about a week now and it's ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I don't wear make up usually, occasionally light eye makeup. And I don't have a big problem with break outs, but I do have fiercely dry skin. So dry that my skin rashes. So I've never used cleansers, just hot water and a rag. But this stuff is so gentle and smooth! I don't get that dry, tight feeling after I dry my face and it doesn't burn when I use it. I give props to Garnier!

  5. Thank you for a great review! I love cleansing oils, having tried Sephora's, Boscia, and now Josie Maran's. I might give this a try once fall rolls back around and my skin starts drying out again. Let's hope Loreal, Neutrogena, and others jump on the oil bandwagon! Have you tried the Body Shop's oil cleanser? Theirs is actually not so expensive compared to Josie Maran and Boscia, but I rarely can find a review on it.

  6. I'm so glad & grateful you put the timeline! I had a sample of this and loved it for the first few days and then I had a blemish, I assumed it was because of the oil cleanser (although I used sunscreen & was out in humid heat last weekend). I was about to dismiss the product but I've regained hope, maybe my skin was doing it's thing (maybe it was a hormonal blemish). I love how this stuff works so I'll purchase it and see what happens. I hope my situation was like yours, I don't usually have sensitive skin. Thanks for the detailed review!
