Review: Wet n' Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio

The beautyverse has been all a flutter for a while about the Wet 'n Wild eyeshadow palettes. I've been extremely curious to try them out since I read Nouveau Cheap's review on them back in January, and saw emilynoel83 do some tutorials with the eight-shadow palettes in February. A few weeks ago I was in Walgreens and remembered to go take a looksy at the Wet n' Wild section of the beauty isle. While I was perusing, I picked up two Color Icon eyeshadow trios. I can report that the hype is well deserved. These eyeshadows are silky, blendable, and pigmented, pigmented, pigmented. It's crazy. The color payoff on these is just as impressive as a high-end brand and they come in great color combos that make it easy for even the makeup novice to get eyeshadow application right. The eyeshadows within the palette are imprinted with instructions on where to place them (e.g., brow bone, crease, eyelid), making it easy to create a polished look in three easy steps. Best of all, these are only $2.99! You gotta love a bargain.

Check out my swatches below (swatched over eyeshadow primer). Silent treatment is a great palette for a night out, while Walking on Eggshells if a really pretty neutral palette for everyday use (like work and school). I absolutely love these shadows and would recommend them to anyone looking for a great beauty product at a bargain price. You won't be disappointed. They come in an assortment of colors that will suit all tastes and preferences.
Silent Treatment
Colors (top to bottom): Pink-nude, shimmery black, shimmery taupe-violet
Walking on Eggshells
Colors (top to bottom): Shimmery nude, shimmery copper-brown, shimmery pink
What do you think of these? Are you curious about the new Wet 'n Wild eyeshadow palettes? Will you be picking any up at your local drugstore? If you've already tried them, what do you think? What colors did you get?

  4. @Kris- It really is like makeup for dummies, but with really great results! I don't think anyone could even come close to guessign it's a cheapy drugstore look. It has plenty of pigment, doesn't fade away quickly. I love it!
