I'm so excited: My Benefit order arrived

I am so excited! I came home today to find my Benefit order had arrived. I was so incredibly happy, I actually made this sound, "Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!" I was just that excited that it arrived.  As I'm sure you know by now, I'm in love love love with my Benefit creaseless cream eyeshadow/liners. The ones I have, I think, are too light to be used as liners, so I've only used them as shadows, but I think they are amazing. Today, Bunny Hop arrived. It is a discontinued color, so I got it for only $9.50 (the shadows are regularly $19), and the color is just so pretty. A nice shimmery pink. The swatch on the site (and in my original post) is pretty much dead on.

Ok, but I've raved and gushed over these shadows enough. I'll post a picture once I use it to make a pretty look.

Instead, I'll be chatting you up about another happy surprise that made me make that silly sound. I got two, yes two, free samples. And not dinky samples. Deluxe samples. I mean, enough product that I'll feel like I actually owned it before I run out. And I got those sample even though all I bought was discontinued product for less than $10. Thanks Benefit! I liked you before and now I like you even more! The two products I received were:

  • Dr. Feelgood velvety complexion balm, which can be used either on its own, below, or above your makeup for smooth, silky, matte skin. It is meant to reduce the appearance of fine lines and pores, while soaking up excess oil, and contains vitamins A, C, and E. I have never used it, but from reading the description, I'm intrigued.

  • That Gal brightening face primer, used like any primer, this "silky pink" formula (as it is described on the Benefit site), is meant to help, well, brighten your skin, while performing primer duties like prepping skin for foundation, creating a barrier between skin and makeup, helping makeup last longer and smooth over skin easily. All that, while making my skin look brighter? Nice. Can't wait to try it out. Now, a full-sized version is .37 fl. oz, and if you look closely, you'll see the sample is .12 fl. oz. It's a decent size. If not, the packaging makes it look like it is. I wonder if I will be converted from my regular primer to this... It's still less than the Smashbox primer I used (and loved) before I switched to Sephora's brand.
I'll keep you posted on how I like these.

But before that, did you check out the cute little quotes above? It's just another reason why I love Benefit. It's packaging and motif is just too cute and adorable. I love the pinup gal dolls and the retro-candyshop feel. Check out a picture of the catalog they sent me. I'm just over the moon. I can't say it enough, I really love this brand. I can see why it has such a big following. Keep up the great work Benefit, you are awesome!
