YouTube Debut: How to Flat Iron Your Hair Like a Pro

I watch a lot of YouTube videos, and often see people doing how to's for hair styling, using their bare hands with heat-styling products. Specifically, flat irons. I always think, "Ouch!" You see, I've tried that, and it always results in burning my fingers on my scalding hot hair. I quickly learned to watch how my stylist flat irons my hair, and decided to share this little bit of knowledge to help others keep their darling fingers burn-free. All you need is a carbon fiber comb (available at Sally's or other beauty supply places for a little more than $3), your flat iron (for me that's a Sedu), and a little patience to master the motions. If you already blow your hair dry, you've got the motions down. It just takes a little practice.

Why a carbon fiber comb, you ask? Well, first, it helps keep your hair from getting static-y, and it's much more resistant to the heat of a professional flat iron. I've used regular combs before, only to have them melt because of the heat. No one wants melted comb in their hair! Shell out a little more for the carbon fiber comb upfront and you'll save in the end because you won't have to replace your comb constantly.

Good luck, and I hope this tutorial is helpful. Let me know what you'd like to see next!
