Manicure Monday: Spanglemaker

Welcome to another week! Thankfully it's a short one (for those of us in the U.S.). Thanksgiving is on Thursday and I thought, "I want something a little festive." Granted, metallic silver doesn't really scream Thanksgiving. Honestly, it's more reminiscent of the winter holidays than the fall ones. But, I love those holidays. Sparkling lights, tinsel, ornaments, dazzling ribbons: Winter holidays are glamorous. And, while I think a shiny silver manicure is good year-round, it seems to go well with the glitz the accompanies the holiday celebrations.

I picked up some Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics nail polishes at The Makeup Show Orlando a few weeks ago and this is the first one I'll be sampling for you today. So far, I'm liking these polishes. What you're seeing above is a one coat manicure. Yep. That's right. You can pick your jaws up off the floor from the shock. This girl. The girl who always applies two coats, even when the polish is opaque enough for one, actually stopped after one coat. And, I gotta say, I'm happy with the result.

As you can see, Spanglemaker is a metallic silver with silver shimmer. It's shiny and sparkly and kind of looks a bit like aluminum foil - the side of the aluminum foil that isn't reflective chrome. You know what I'm talking about, right? Well, think of that, then add some sparkle.

I had no problems applying this on smoothly, and as you can see, I didn't need a second coat to even the color out. In my opinion, OCC has a good formula going here. It's definitely comparable to the other name brand competitors out there. At least that's my opinion of Spanglemaker.

OCC nail lacquers retail for $8 and have 0.5 oz of product. I'm diggin' the square bottle too. You can purchase OCC nail polish online here

Have you tried OCC nail lacquers? Are you a fan? What do you think of Spanglemaker? What's your favorite OCC nail lacquer shade?
